We have been operating in the Western district of Victoria for 20 years. The business was founded by Hugh Macdonald , who had 10 years experience working as a Finance broker both in Melbourne and Hamilton . In 1998 Gayle Styles joined the business with 20 years Finance and Bank experience working in the field of Commercial Finance. Ashley Lambert and Bernie Porter joined our organisation in 2000 and 2003 respectively and have been integral in developing both the broking business and our associated finance company, Southern Leasing Pty Ltd.
In December 2005, the business merged with the Southern Financial Group who are a well renowned Western Victorian financier, specialising in chattel finance and mortgage loans. This merger has expanded our business to have offices in Hamilton, Warrnambool and Geelong.
Joe Serra has 29 years of experience with Westpac more recently as Specialist Sales Finance Managers - Geelong and South Western Victoria. Joe joined our group in July 2005 to develop the Geelong Branch of Southern Finance, particularly in the chattel finance and mortgage loans area. His wealth of experience and knowledge of the industry is impeccable and his arrival provides enormous expertise and integrity to our team.
Simon Bones runs the chattel financing business from our Warrnambool office. Simon has a number of years experience in Melbourne as a finance broker and also is a qualified valuer of plant & equipment as well as a licensed auctioneer.
The business specialises in all areas of Plant & Equipment and Motor Vehicle finance including goods that fall outside the normal Bank criteria, particularly older equipment and lower cost items. Southern Financial Group is also extremely active in providing mortgage finance, particularly for the Commercial and Rural sector in Victoria and South Australia using their own funds. Currently the level of loans is in excess of $200m. Loans include Interest Only, Principal & Interest and redraw facilities.
Chattel Mortgage, Lease, Hire Purchase & Rental Agreements are products offered to our clients in all aspects of rural and regional based businesses & industry.
